About Me
Dana Edwards is a photographer based in New York City. He shoots documentary-style photo essays, portraits, nature, and street photography. He has primarily shot with an analog Leica M2 camera (his father’s camera from the 1960s) and developed his own black and white film, but he has recently switched to digtial.
His photos have been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Kathmandu Post, and the Stanford Journal of Human Rights. Many of his photos have been chosen by a jury and displayed as “Master Shots” and “Selections” by Leica Fotografie International. His work was displayed in the first juried exhibition of student artwork at Stanford University, entitled All Tomorrow’s Parties.
He is inspired by classic 20th century street and humanist photographers like Henri Cartier Bresson, Robert Frank, and Diane Arbus, as well as contemporary photojournalists like Marcus Yam and Dina Litovsky.
